Contents of the UNT Libraries' Web Site      In this site you will find:

green bullet UNT Library Catalog, covering the materials owned by the UNT Libraries.

green bullet Electronic Resources, for all the electronic products that UNT Libraries have purchased, leased, or recommended in the following broad categories:

  • indexes/abstracts, typically with information on journal articles by topic, author, journal, etc.
  • full text journals & books by package or vendor
  • full text reference tools like encyclopedias, handbooks, etc.
  • directories & catalogs
  • statistical and other full text databases
But you will not find listings of the individual books within two big ebook products here. Ebooks by title from netLibrary and Safari Tech are in the Library Catalog. However, you can use the links above to search these book packages from Electronic Resources.

Most electronic resources also  have records in the Library Catalog. You will also find records in the Catalog  for individual electronic journals and books, searchable  by title and/or journal title. Use Full Text Electronic Journal Holdings at UNT for a list of most of our electronic journals, the years they are available, and the package(s) where they are found. This page is updated bimonthly as we get new titles often.

green bullet Many other web pages, with information about the UNT Libraries and specific academic subjects, disciplines, and topics. There are special pages to help students find, evaluate, and use all kinds of information such as Subject Guides, Class Assignment Resource Pages, Quick Reference, Style Manuals, and Writing Tips. You will also find links to many other content-rich pages, including a surprising amount of full text U.S. and Texas Government Information through the Government Information Connection. Some of this information is maintained by UNT Libraries as permanent archives.

Using this Site Students, faculty/staff, and visitors can use the Library Catalog and many other web pages without any special passwords or software programs. Some full text resources including many government information web pages contain pdf files that require Adobe Reader for full access. Electronic Resources

Electronic Resources provided by UNT Libraries can be easily accessed by any UNT student, faculty, or staff member from any computer with web access through any Internet Service Provider. For more information, go to Tips and Tricks for Using UNT Electronic Resources.

All of these products are readily accessible from any computer in the Libraries, on campus (including UNT Dallas campus) and in the dorms. However, an additional step is necessary if you are off-campus to verify that you are a member of the University community.

EUID and Password If you are off-campus, this is all you will need to use 95% of these products.

For students, this is your EUID and Eaglemail password. If you have not used Eaglemail before, go to  https://eaglemail.unt.edu and select "Sign Up!" If you have problems, use the Help option or contact the Computing Center Help Desk, ISB room 119 or 565-2324.

For faculty and staff, you must activate your UNT Internet Services Account, http://ams.unt.edu  and obtain a password for your EUID. This web page will also assist you in determining your current, active EUID. Contact helpdesk@unt.edu or call 940/565-2324 for assistance.

This is the screen you will see when you try to open an electronic resource from off-campus::

To access the Electronic Resources remotely, you need to login.

Please enter your EUID and password:

If you have forgotten your EUID, go to http://ams.unt.edu/whatsmyeuid.php .

To set up or reset your password, go to http://ams.unt.edu/resetpw.php .

Last 5% In addition, a few products also require that you have downloaded a free special helper program called Citrix ICA Client to your home computer. Go to Using Citrix for more information.

Help     To help you move quickly around the Libraries' Web Site, we have provided four "Web Aids."

  • On the Libraries' Home Page you will find descriptions of content for the major sections of the Libraries' Web Site. These are visible when your mouse rolls over the section headings.
  • Use Search this Web Site to quickly find specific information anywhere within the site such as hours, maps, or how to renew books online. However, Search this Web Site cannot be used to find out what the Library owns, such as a particular book or items by a specific author. Use the Library Catalog for this.
  • Use Site Map  to help you understand the organization of the Libraries' Web Site. This map also contains direct links to the various sections of the site.
  • Many times the best way to get help is to Ask a Librarian. Use this page to find out how to contact us via phone, email reference, online reference help desk (chat room technology), or in person. You can schedule a personal session with a librarian to learn how to use the Libraries' electronic and print resources most effectively and efficiently.
