LICENSING OF THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATORSAn "administrator" means a person who collects premiums or contributions from or who adjusts or settles claims in connection with life, health, accident and pharmacy benefits or annuities for residents of this state. Persons who fall under this definition and are not exempted are required to have a certificate of authority before conducting business in this state. The Statute, Chapter 4151 (codified Texas Insurance Code) dealing with Third Party Administrators is available for viewing and printing at Texas Insurance Code. The sections of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) outlining the administration and enforcement of the statute are available for viewing and printing at Texas Administrative Code, 28 TAC ยงยง 7.1601-7.1617.
