• The ENG-1 form must be completed and submitted to the Engineering Services Section of the TDI with all supporting documentation.

  Note: Please insure that the form is signed and sealed, and copies of current registration and license are submitted with the form. Submission of the ENG-1 form indicates that the applicant understands and will comply with the requirements stated in 28 TAC §5.4604 of the Texas Administrative Code.

• The ENG-1 form and supporting documentation is reviewed by the TDI engineering staff, and the Texas Board of Professional Engineers is contacted to determine if registration is current.

• After review and approval, notice of appointment as a qualified inspector will be distributed to all interested parties and posted in the Appointed Engineer list.

TESTING FACILITIES
Testing facilities that submit information to the TDI must be recognized by the Texas Department of Insurance, by the model code organizations, American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), National Wood Window and Door Association (NWWDA), or Dade County. The list of testing facilities is not intended to be complete nor is it an endorsement to the testing facilities listed. The information contained is accurate according to the latest information available to the Texas Department of Insurance. If the information contained for the lab is incorrect or your testing facility is not listed, please contact the Engineering Services Section.

B-0045-04 – RE: Commissioner's Order No. 04-0737, adoption of new 28 TAC 5.4010, concerning the International Residential Code and International Building Code, 2003 Editions, as the applicable building code standards for structures to be considered insurable property for windstorm and hail insurance coverage through the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (Association), and amendments to 28 TAC §§5.4009, 5.4603, and 5.4800. The effective date is January 1, 2005.
