Support Services

Overview

Support Services consists of the State Mail Office, Federal Surplus Property, State Surplus Property, Quick Copy, Office of Vehicle Fleet Management and Recycling and Waste Management. All of these programs provide invaluable support to various state agencies, but they also provide vital functions to citizens and clients of the State of Texas. The State Mail Office was developed in fiscal year 1997 and supports statewide mail related initiatives such as postage, metering, mailings and deliveries, as well as mail equipment and service reviews to other agencies. TBPC’s Federal Surplus Property Program certifies organizations as eligible under federal agency regulations to receive and use surplus federal government property for a handling fee. The State Surplus Property Program disposes of salvage and surplus personal property from state agencies. The Quick Copy Program provides document copying and full lettershop services to TBPC and other state agencies upon request. The Office of Vehicle Fleet Management is primarily charged with the administration and management of the State Vehicle Fleet Management Plan and the statewide vehicle data reporting system. The Recycling and Waste Management Program collects recyclable materials and manages the waste generated by state employees in Austin.
