information. The NWS is the sole United States official voice
for issuing warnings during life-threatening weather situations.

National Weather Service is free and in the public domain. If you
would like to receive weather data directly, you must become part
of the "Family of Services." Even though the data is free, the transmission

Weather Service Cooperative Observer Program - The 11,700
volunteer Cooperative observers take observations in greatly
diverse environmental settings, including farms, urban and suburban
areas, national parks, seashores and mountaintops. These services
frequently consist of taking and recording temperature and precipitation
daily and reporting to NOAA's
National Climatic Data Center or a National
Weather Service office at the end of each month. |
