Campaign Finance Reporting of Out-of-State Travel

Information required by Texas Ethics Commission Rules §§ 20.52 and 20.61 regarding travel outside of the state of Texas is now reported as described below:

For Electronic Filers: The latest software update includes new fields for reporting the detailed information required for in-kind contributions and political expenditures for travel outside of the state of Texas. This information must be reported in the appropriate software fields instead of in the memo field as in prior versions of the software.

For Paper Filers: The paper forms have been updated to include a new schedule (T) for reporting the detailed information required for in-kind contributions and political expenditures for travel outside of the state of Texas. The contribution/expenditure will still be reported on the appropriate schedule, but the details of the travel will now be reported on Schedule T.
