Fire Prevention & Outreach Services provides fire protection information and education, including school curriculum material on prevention for grades K-12.

Fire Prevention & Outreach Services administers a statewide juvenile fire awareness and intervention program and maintains the Texas Fire Incident Reporting System (TEXFIRS).

Finally, Fire Prevention & Outreach Services manages the Public Protection Classification (PPC) fire suppression rating system process.
