Beyond regulatory information, the site contains a wealth of information about the quality of the human and natural environment in Nevada. Our mission is to preserve and enhance the environment of the state in order to protect public health, sustain healthy ecosystems and contribute to a vibrant economy.

Major programs administrated by the Division include air and water quality, hazardous and solid waste, recycling, hazardous chemicals, mining reclamation, federal facilities, soil and water remediation, safe drinking water, and water pollution control.

September 07, 2006 — State To Fund Mercury Sampling Sites — CARSON CITY - The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) has stepped forward to fund two northern Nevada mercury air sampling sites that otherwise may have been forced to close due to lack of funding. In addition, a new site is being constructed in the Reno-Sparks area.
