Student Summer Internship Program
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
Human Resources Division
Program Information
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's (TPWD) Intern program is primarily a Summer internship program for college students. Applications will be accepted at anytime, but transcripts must be sent after the Fall 2006 semester has been completed. Transcripts submitted for the internship must show the Fall semester grades. Intern job descriptions will be updated on the web throughout the Winter. The agency will not be able to determine how many interns TPWD will have or where the internships will be located until the funding is finalized.
The applicant is responsible for submitting a complete application package. A package includes the application, copies of official transcripts (not webcast grades) and the Authorization and Consent for Criminal History form.
Please note that the program is very competitive and those students interested in becoming a TPWD intern need to take the time to complete the application package.
Program Objective
To introduce interested college students, particularly women and minorities, to career opportunities in positions located statewide and job settings in which to gain practical experience and training in natural and cultural resource fields.
Program Duration and Funding
The summer internship program employment period normally begins in May and ends in August. Extensions beyond this time period may be allowed on a case-by-case basis and is dependent on funding and on agency/division needs, as are other opportunities for internships that may be available during the school year.
