January 13, 2007Corpus Christi, TexasFlying WILD Workshop — Flying WILD, a companion piece to Project WILD, explores bird conservation through classroom activities and stewardship projects. During the six-hour workshop participants will receive an educator's manual, sample activities and explore guidelines on how to implement school bird festivals and conservation projects. Teachers, informal educators and youth group leaders may take the training and receive three hours SBCC/TEEAC credit. Held at the Texas State Aquarium Sea Lab, 4230 Rincon Rd. 9 a.m.-noon; fee $20 refundable upon completion of workshop; preregistration required, deadline October 7. March 16–17, 2007Corpus Christi, TexasJoint Facilitator Training: Project Learning Tree & Project WILD — Join the corps of volunteer facilitators who teach Project Learning Tree (PLT), Project WILD and Project WILD Aquatic workshops to other adults. Once trained, facilitators provide PLT and Project WILD professional development workshops to educators in their cities and communities. Open to all who have previous Project WILD or PLT training. Must be willing to teach one workshop per year. Two-day training workshop, held at the Texas State Aquarium, 2710 North Shoreline Blvd. from 2 p.m. Friday-5 p.m. Saturday; fee: $40 includes meals and overnight accommodations at the aquarium; preregistration required, contact Auburn Carpenter at acarpenter@txstateaq.org or (361) 881-1203.
