Featured Event March 3–4, 2007Washington-on-the-Brazos SHSTexas Independence Day Celebration — Celebrate Texas' 171st birthday at the "Birthplace of Texas," Washington-on-the-Brazos. Demonstrators, re-enactors and period music come together to make history come alive. Visit Independence Hall where the Texas Declaration was adopted March 2, 1836 and learn about Texas' ten years as a sovereign nation at the Star of the Republic Museum. There will be something for everyone. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; tour fees are waived during this special weekend. (936) 878-2214.
