March 3, 2007 — San Angelo SP — Longhorn Tour — The park is home to a large part of the official Texas longhorn herd. Park interpreter will discuss the features of this magnificent breed and tell stories of how they evolved into the wild and colorful Texas longhorn of legend and western lore. March 10, 2007 — San Angelo SP — Adult Bird Adventure — Join an avid bird enthusiast from the San Angelo Birding Club on a walk and drive around the south side of the park to explore what feathered friends can be found and identified. The park is host to over 300 species of birds that either live in or migrate through. Wear closed shoes, bring binoculars and insect repellant. April 7, 2007 — San Angelo SP — Dave Macey Gravesite - The Mystery Remains — Located above a Native American bison kill site and on top of Macey's Ridge lies the 1847 gravesite of David Macey. Who was he? Where did he come from? Why was he here? Park interpreter or volunteer will tell the story and leave the rest to your imagination. Meet at the South Shore Gatehouse. April 11, 2007 — San Angelo SP — Silver Bluebonnet Event — Senior citizens are invited to the park as guests of the Friends of San Angelo State Park. Seminars will be given by local enthusiasts on wildflowers, birds and the park's bison. Park trailer tours will also be provided.
