Join Kendall County's rainwater expert, John Kight, for a presentation and discussion of rainwater collection systems. Learn the basics of design, capacity and cost. Since 2002, every drop of water for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning and lawn irrigation at his family's home north of Boerne comes from the clouds, with no backup water supply. Group size limited to 18; not suitable for children. February 3, 2007Government Canyon SNAHiking Basics Clinic — Join Robert Roehm from Whole Earth Provision Company for this clinic followed by a short hike on one of the natural area's trails. Learn the basics for day hiking: what to take, safety and emergency planning, water requirements, how to dress, footwear and simple map reading. Please dress for hiking, bring plenty of water and your packed daypack and find out if you have the right things in it. Featured Event March 3, 2007Sea Center TexasNature Day — Fishing, birding and habitat gardening are just a few the activities that will be highlighted at this event. See live animals exhibits, hear many tips on how to enjoy nature in your backyard or at your favorite outdoor getaways. Catch and release youth fishing available, but bring your own rod, reel, tackle and bait. Cut squid or fresh dead shrimp work well fished on the bottom; no artificial lures and barbless hooks only.
