A Brief Overview... The State Office
of Risk Management (SORM) was created by the 75th Texas Legislature
in 1997 to provide risk management services to state agencies
and to administer workers’ compensation claims for state employees.

Applications... SORM is administratively
attached to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Although
we are a separate agency, many of our administrative duties
are outsourced to the OAG. All applications are routed through
the OAG's Human Resources Division located at 300 W. 15th
street in Austin, Texas, www.OAG.State.TX.US.
It is necessary to submit an electronic application through

for any position for which you want to be considered for employment.
Effective October 1, 2004, paper applications will not be
accepted. SORM's application process is completely automated
and we are unable to process paper applications. Computers
are available in the OAG's Human Resources Division for applicants
to access www.WorkInTexas.com
to register and to complete electronic applications. Local
Texas Workforce Commission offices also have computers available
for public use.
Your education and experience must match the minimum qualifications
identified on the posting. All electronic applications for
specific positions are screened for minimum qualifications
by the 'Must Match' function and the Custom Questions in the
WorkInTexas computer program. Only applications that meet
all minimum qualifications will be considered by the hiring
unit.
Applicants for certain positions may be instructed in the

An applicant will be contacted directly by the hiring division
if selected for an interview. For some postings, interviewees
will be required to bring proof of typing speed, certification
