Property Tax Division:
- Researches and publishes an annual school district property value study and holds administrative hearings related to the study.
- Publishes a variety of manuals and provides advice and information on property tax issues.
- Administers the Permanent University Fund property taxes, the economic development (tax abatement) refund, and the tax abatement registry.
- Performs appraisal standards reviews and audits of appraisal districts under certain circumstances.
- Trains appraisal review boards, provides information to the public, and schedules seminars and presentations for appraisers, appraisal districts, and taxing authorities.
- Provides legislative support, including preparing fiscal notes, monitoring committees, and providing expert testimony.
