Habitats

The habitats of Texas are divided up several different ways, depending upon the purpose. There are ten ecological regions in Texas, irregularly shaped and not following any county lines, determined by soil and vegetation types. There are seven travel or tourism regions. Many Parks and Wildlife programs and personnel assignments are divided into eight wildlife districts, shown in the map below. Clicking on a district will take you to a map of that district, showing all the counties. Selecting your county will give you a list of wildlife contacts in your area.
