About the Publication

Fiscal Notes is one of the ways the Comptroller's Office strives to assist taxpayers and the people of Texas. The newsletter is a by-product of the Comptroller's constitutional responsibility to monitor the state's economy and to make estimates of state government revenues.

Articles and analysis appearing in Fiscal Notes do not necessarily represent the policy or endorsement of the Comptroller of Public Accounts. Space is devoted to a wide variety of topics of Texas interest and general government concern.
