Elizabeth Winland joined the North Texas sports medicine staff in 2015 as an athletic trainer.

Winland is the trainer for the Mean Green track & field and oversees the athletic trainer graduate assistants for tennis.

Prior to joining North Texas, she spent three years as head athletic trainer at Navarro College, where she oversaw seven nationally ranked athletic teams and participated in seven national-championship events.

Winland began her career in North Carolina as the head athletic trainer for Eastern Guilford High School and as a physicians extender at Guilford Orthopaedics. She received her masters of science in sports studies from High Point University in May of 2011, and obtained her certification and licensure as massage therapist in December 2014.

Winland attended Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio, where she earned her bachelors degree in athletic training. She was a student athletic trainer with men's basketball, softball, baseball, cross country, swimming & diving and football.

Winland was certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification in 2010, licensed by the State of North Carolina from 2010-2012 and by the state of Texas in 2012, and holds a massage-therapist license from the state of Texas.
