Once again, our fabulous #unthistory students are making headlines with the crucial history they've uncovered regarding institutional racism in Denton County's ...past. Today's article about their work in the Denton Record-Chronicle cites our students Hannah Stewart, Michelle Glaze, and Emily Bowles. Thank you for your important work! https:/…/…/article_4ce06d9e-71ba-5005-b01c-c088ae2c045c.html #UNT #Denton #DentonCounty UNT College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences

A year ago, a memorial opened in Alabama to remember what Denton County and other communities around the country worked hard to keep secret: decades of racial terror and lynchings

This past weekend, #UNT CLASS students competed in the Applied Skills Competition, which brings together liberal arts students from several universities to provide solutions to real-world business problems. This year, the sponsor was HVAC Manufacturing, Inc., a company who recently relocated from San Jose, CA to Athens, Texas. Students from UNT competed with students from SFA and Southern Arkansas to propose ways to attract and retain young talent in rural East Texas. Our students that competed are Taylor Diaz (UNT - World Languages, Literatures and Cultures) and Michelle Wingard (UNT Department of Communication Studies). Also photographed is Seth Knievel (Communication Studies). We are #UNTproud of them representing us in this competition!
