HUNTINGTON, W.V. - North Texas found itself needing a defensive stand and an answer with the clock winding down at Marshall on Saturday night, but the Thundering Herd found a way to make the plays and hold on to an 80-73 win over the Mean Green.

Down six points with 1:14 remaining, NT's Colin Voss soared for a steal that led to a DeAndre Harris layup on the other end. Marshall's Aleksa Nikolic hit a free throw on the other end, which set up a crucial possession for the Mean Green. Jordan Williams got open for a deep 3-pointer to the left of the key with 30 seconds on the clock, but it proved long and the Herd finished the game off with free throws.

Williams once again proved a handful for the Herd. The senior had 20 points last year in a Mean Green win at the Cam Henderson Center, and followed that up with a season-high tying 23 points on Saturday.

Voss wasn't far behind with 17 points, which is only one shy of his career best. DeAndre Harris had 11 points

NT's loss, combined with Rice's win over league-leading Western Kentucky, drops the Mean Green into 12th place in the C-USA standings with eight regular season games remaining.
