DENTON – North Texas volleyball wants to say thank you.

The Mean Green will be donating time with a week of service to wrap up the month of February, culminating in a free Thank You Clinic open to students 8th grade and under at the Mean Green Volleyball center.

Head coach Andrew Palileo and squad will be spending time on and around the campus of UNT, hoping to say thank you for yet another year of fantastic support.

"We wanted to reach out to the different segments in our community to say thanks," Palileo said.  "The early part of the week we'll be saying thanks to our first responders, then it's about serving people. We want to reach out to Denton and the surrounding communities with our free clinic on Friday."

The week will begin with a cooperative with the UNT Police Department. The Mean Green and UNTPD can be found at the Library Mall outside the student union on Monday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. First responders are the theme of the first two days, as Tuesday will feature service time with at Firehouse 3 in Denton (1204 McCormick St.).

The Mean Green will return to campus for Wednesday's event from 12-1:30 p.m. inside the student union before the final service event on Thursday at Our Daily Bread Denton.

The Thank You Clinic, hosted Friday 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Mean Green Volleyball Center, will teach students 8th grade and under volleyball in a fun, professional environment. It is free to register. The deadline will be the day of the camp, Friday, March 1.

"For our program, our players do a great job of being available anytime opportunities for service presents itself," Palileo said. "I know the coaches and players are going to have a blast next week as we say thanks and serve our community."
