Want to be your own boss? Are you a visionary or a risk taker? Then you should pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of North Texas.

From home-based businesses to venture capitalfunded startups, entrepreneurs work in all types of industries and are a driving force behind economic growth. Building a wide range of skills gives you maximum flexibility and preparation to chart your own future.

Potential careers, in addition to being an entrepreneur or business owner, include:

• Business analyst — investigating business environments, opportunities, market trends, and expansion and growth options
• Consultant — providing support on how to write business plans, make business projections or identify opportunities
• General manager/supervisor — setting goals and effectively implementing plans
• Management training generalist — designing training sessions in developing business models, innovating business processes or increasing efficiency

What we offer

In the Department of Management, our comprehensive program exercises a “learn today, apply tomorrow” classroom philosophy. Upon graduation, you’ll have the practical tools needed to start a business or improve an existing one. Our curriculum addresses real-world situations such as:

• Dealing successfully with managerial and family business challenges
• Developing a strategic business plan
• Identifying business opportunities
• Identifying and capitalizing on international opportunities
• Managing finances

You’ll learn from faculty members known for their innovative teaching, outstanding research and exceptional service to the profession and community. You also can apply your skills in collegiate and national competitions and become involved in student organizations.

Our students have earned scholarships from the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation, among other organizations. The College of Business’ Professional Leadership Program works with corporate partners in the region to provide you with the necessary skills to be competitive in the workforce.

The college is accredited by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (777 South Harbour Island Blvd., Suite 750; Tampa, Fla. 33602; telephone 813-769-6500). This means the college meets or exceeds strict academic standards for excellence in education.

Our Business Leadership Building promotes interaction among students, faculty and industry leaders. The building — which has Gold-level LEED certification for sustainability — contains 24 classrooms, team study rooms and a state-of-the-art general access computer lab.

What to expect

Your coursework will provide an overall understanding of business, including accounting, finance, basic management and other related areas. In addition, you’ll take entrepreneurship courses that provide you with theory and application experiences. You’ll be offered courses in:

• Business ethics and social entrepreneurship
• Creativity and opportunity development
• International management
• Organizational design
• Technology management
