The Department of Mathematic's online scholarship application is currently closed. The deadline for the 2019-2020 academic year for undergraduates was March 1, 2019. We awarded $8,000 in scholarships last year--you could be a part of that next year. Application will re-open in Fall 2019.
The UNT Mathematics Department offers a number of scholarships for undergraduate mathematics majors. Students should also contact the UNT Financial Aid Office to learn more about general academic scholarships.

Eligibility
The applicant must be new or continuing undergraduate student whose major is mathematics at the University of North Texas.
Amount
Scholarships will be awarded in amounts ranging from \$200 to \$1000 dollars. Recipients will receive half the award early in the Fall semester and half in the Spring semester contingent upon satisfactory performance in the Fall semester.
Criteria
Applicant must be a current or future UNT student whose major is mathematics. Recipients must have demonstrated academic excellence in mathematics as evidenced by formal coursework, independent study, state and national exams, mathematical competitions, etc.
Only one application is required to be considered for all the scholarships. Not every scholarship is awarded every year.
How to Apply
Applications must complete the following:
- Fill out and submit our online application form.
- Have 2 references submit letters of recommendation for you online. These should be from math teachers or faculty. They will be sent an email with a link to the recommendation form once you've submitted your scholarship application in step 1.
- If you're a future student, send us copies official transcripts or other records which show courses studied and grades. Current students can provide copies of their unofficial transcripts on their application form.

Review of scholarship applications by the Scholarship Committee will begin March 1. Applications received after this date may also be considered.
The Aspiring Actuary Scholarship
Mathematics students seeking the Undergraduate Academic Certificate in Actuarial Science are eligible for the The Aspiring Actuary Scholarship from the College of Science.

Math majors involved with the Teach North Texas program are also eligible to apply for Teach North Texas scholarships.
