FORT WORTH -- North Texas lost 4-0 Monday night at No. 42 TCU.

The Mean Green fall to 4-7 on the year and are in the middle of one of their busiest weeks.

Monday's match was the second of four matches UNT will play this week, with two of them being on the road.

Despite the 4-0 loss to the Horn Frogs (9-5), the team and coaches felt the team competed well and sees all this experience paying off when it matters most in the conference tournament.

"We all put our best out there and we are improving a lot," said junior Tamuna Kutubidze. "Everyone is ready to play, it's a young and determined team and we are figuring out the puzzle pieces."

Pieces like freshman Nidhi Surapaneni and sophomore Alexandra Heczey who are getting used to college tennis and different roles.

Heczey and fellow sophomore Ivana Babic had three set points on Monday and played closely contested matches but couldn't pull it out in the end as the match was called before they could close it out. Both Heczey and Babic's first set went to a tiebreaker and were providing lifting the team with positive energy.

"Ivana and Alex had great energy on the court and their energy was felt by all of us, which is very important," Kutubidze said.

Kutubidze faced TCU's No. 82 nationally ranked Aleksa Cveticanin and won her first set and played a close second set but due to losses at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5, the match was clichéd by TCU before she could finish her match. It's her second-straight match to go unfinished.

"I'm proud of each one of us, because it really feels like we are playing our hearts out and doing everything to improve and win the conference," Kutubidze said.

North Texas returns home to play Middle Tennessee on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The Mean Green are 2-1 this year versus Conference USA teams.
