IRVING – The Mean Green's Viktor Forslund and Lenny Bergsson have been selected to Conference USA's all-conference men's golf team, the league announced Friday.

Forslund, who was an all-freshman team selection a year ago, earned second-team honors after leading the Mean Green with a 73.21 scoring average over the team's 10 tournaments this year. Bergsson followed Forslund's lead from last year, landing on the all-freshman team after notching a 74.89 scoring average while competing in all 10 tournaments.

The pair shared a common theme: they both excelled late in the year and played their best golf down the stretch.

Forslund finished the year with a sixth-place tie at the loaded Hayt Invitational before tying for seventh at the C-USA Championship – his two best finishes of the year. Forslund broke into the GolfStat national rankings, which ranks the top 250 players in the country, and is currently ranked No. 243.

Bergsson tied for 14th at The Hayt and tied for 17th at the C-USA Championship – also his two best finishes of the year.

"Viktor and Lenny have put in the time and improved a lot this year," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "I am proud of them both and looking forward to them leading us to championships next year."
