Downtown Dallas

The University of North Texas System (UNTS) is unique amongst Texas Public Univeristy Systems because it is the only System that exclusively serves the robust Dallas-Fort Worth region with campuses and teaching centers in Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth and Frisco. The UNT System administration is headquarterd in the heart of Downtown Dallas at 1901 Main Street. Nestled in a revitalized urban setting that overlooks Main Street Garden Park, UNT System Headquarters also houses the UNT Dallas College of Law -- the only public law school located within Dallas city limits -- and hosts undergraduate courses for multiple institutions as part of the Universities Center at Dallas.

The UNT System, through its Office of Facilities Planning & Construction, has also begun planning and design for the respectful, adaptive use of the City of Dallas Municipal Building for the UNT Dallas College of Law.  This historic buidling also overlooks Main Street Garden from 106 S. Harwood Street and will include consultation with the Texas Historical Commission for approval of its renovation.

The opportunity to interface with a rejuvenated Downtown Dallas provides many opportunities for UNT System students, faculty and staff. From a resurgence of corporate relocations to residential, hotel and commercial development projects, CEOs, developers, and small business owners are all finding value in having an address Downtown. Just this past year, over 90 developments have been announced or have begun construction. Rich in arts and culture, Downtown Dallas also contains more than 50 museums and galleries, and a dozen performing arts spaces.
