Do you possess strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills? Are you a persuasive and creative problem solver? Then you should pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing at the University of North Texas.

Marketers identify target audiences; gather market information; evaluate market data; develop products and services, pricing systems and promotional opportunities; and determine the most effective means of distribution.

What we offer

In the Marketing program, we provide you with a well-rounded, state-of-the-art education using a “learn today, apply tomorrow” classroom philosophy. Our rigorous curriculum teaches you to empathize with customers and understand their motivations.

While pursuing your degree, you can apply to the professional selling concentration or earn a certificate in retailing. The professional selling concentration prepares you for a career in business- to-business selling, and selling products and services in an industrial environment.

Our faculty members are outstanding professors, distinguished researchers and experienced professionals. They’ve been honored by the International Franchise Association Educational Foundation, the Marketing Management Association and the Academy of Marketing Science.

Their research has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Science, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the Journal of Retailing and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Many also have held managerial positions and worked as consultants in the private sector.

You can network with marketing professionals by participating in the student chapter of the American Marketing Association, the ASCEND Pan Asian Leadership Student Chapter, the Sports Marketing Association and the Mu Kappa Tau international marketing honor society.

The G. Brint Ryan College of Business’ Professional Leadership Program works with corporate partners throughout the region to get you the skills needed to be competitive in the workforce.

We also sponsor several scholarships to help you pursue your degree.

Our Business Leadership Building promotes interaction among students, faculty and industry leaders. The building — which has Gold-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for sustainability — contains 24 classrooms, team study rooms and a state-of-the- art general access computer lab.

While pursuing your degree, you'll take courses in:

In addition, you will enroll in three supporting classes based on your career interests. These courses include, but are not limited to, professional selling, advertising management, internet marketing concepts and strategy, and channels of distribution.

For the professional selling concentration, an internship with a business-to-business sales force is required.

How to enroll at UNT

High school students

Detailed information on recognized high school graduation programs and SAT/ACT requirements is available at our Admissions website.

In your senior year, apply for admission by the March 1 priority date and request that your high school transcript be sent to the UNT admissions office. If you live out of stateyou can apply through the Common Application.

Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses can count toward college credit at UNT.

Transfer students

If you're attending a Texas community college, you should consult our online transfer guides, the UNT Undergraduate Catalog, and an academic counselor or advisor to review your degree plan. Proper planning will allow you to receive the maximum amount of transfer credits.

Our Transfer Center will help you make a successful transition to college life at UNT by connecting you with a peer mentor and other campus resources. Each year, 4,000 students transfer to UNT

The Career Center, Learning Center and our team of professional academic advisors are among the many valuable resources available to you at UNT. The Career Center can provide advice about internships, future employment opportunities and how to get hands-on experience in your major. The Learning Center offers workshops on speed reading, study skills and time management. Academic advisors are available to help you plan your class schedule each semester.
