Directions

The meeting will take place at the University of North Texas Campus (1155 Union Cir, Denton, TX 76203). Click here for a map of the UNT Campus.

• From Houston: Take I-45 into Dallas. Take exit 286A towards I-35 E/Denton. Proceed on I-35, and once in Denton, you will exit 466B/North Texas Blvd.
• From Austin/San Antonio: Take I-35 North into Dallas. Once in Denton, you will exit 466B/North Texas Blvd.
• From Fort Worth: Take I-35 W into Denton. When in Denton, take the I-35 E exit and proceed south. You will take exit 466B/North Texas Blvd.
• From Dallas: Take I-35 E North into Denton. Once in Denton, you will exit 466B/North Texas Blvd.
• From Oklahoma City: Take I-35 South into Denton. Exit 468 and proceed to North Texas Blvd.

Parking

Visitors have a couple of options:

1. Buy a daily pass and park in one of the designated parking lots. The pass is $5. (We suggest purchasing online, although these can be bought in the Highland Street Garage)
2. Park in one of the parking garages (Highland Street Garage, Union Circle Garage for $2-2.25) an hour

Location

The meeting will take place on the second floor of Willis Library, in Room 250H.

We will have power cords available to plug in laptops and WIFI codes to use the internet. Coffee, pastries, and fruit will be provided for breakfast and tea and cookies for the afternoon.

Lunch

There will be several options for the on-your-own lunch. We have created a sign-up google sheet for those who may want to take advantage of UNT excellent vegan (Mean Greens) and non-vegan cafeterias (Bruce), on-campus restaurant (Avesta*), or Union Food Court options. Each group will include a local UNT guide.

*The Avesta option is based on a reservation and will be limited to the first nine sign-ups.

Bruce Cafeteria – a reach variety of home-cooked and regular options including the main entree, deluxe salad bar, sandwich station, pizza, and pasta. They also offer many vegetarian options.

Mean Greens Cafeteria – an award-winning all-Vegan cafeteria (no animal products, meat or dairy). Tuesday should be Asian Day, but they also always have pizza, pasta, and a Panini bar.

Union – The union is a hub for many popular chains including Which Which, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, Fuzzy Taco Shop, Taco Bueno, Burger King, Jamba Juice (in Barnes and Noble), and Krispy Krunchy Chicken,

Avesta – Housed inside the Union, this ala-carte buffet style restaurant changes its upscale options daily. Prices for a full meal are about $7.75 to 8.75

Camps Chat Food Court also located inside the Union, this food court offers a variety of choice including Boar’s Head, Mia’s Wood-Fired Pizzas and More, Sushi, Salad bar, Mediterranean food, and Grill (Burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc.)

Off-Campus – Those looking to go beyond campus limits can head east of Campus where there are several choices including Chipotle, Salata, Texadelphia, Insomnia Cookies, Pita Pit, Jimmy Johns, Viet Bites among others.

About IIIF

The IIIF initiative started small. It was conceived on the back of a napkin at a Cuban restaurant in Palo Alto, California at a dinner of technologists from Stanford University, the British Library, and Oxford University. From these humble beginnings, the list of IIIF partners, and its impacts on digital cultural heritage have steadily grown (http://iiif.io/community/). Since 2011, this community of academic and national libraries, museums, archives, nonprofits, and commercial organizations has worked together to agree on common APIs for image delivery and developed an ecosystem of compliant systems.

IIIF is a community-driven initiative committed to providing access to high-quality image resources. The IIIF community encourages and supports the development of compatible image serving and viewing software that is easy to install and provides a dazzling user experience.
