Take No Prisoners: A Journey Through Time and Music follows three generations of Denton musicians – Paul Slavens, Craig Welch, and Ariel Hartley of Pearl Earl – to we explore what brought them to Denton, how Denton has changed over the years and what has compelled them to stay.

The UNT Media Library will host a free screening of Take No Prisoners at Dan’s Silverleaf on Sunday, September 9 from 5-5:30 pm. The movie will be followed by a free live performance by Chris Welch & the Cicada Killers at 6 pm. Both events at Dan’s Silverleaf are free to attend and open to people of all ages!

The director, Andrew Valentine, will be in attendance. Valentine is a UNT Media Arts MFA student. You can visit Take No Prisoners on Facebook for more information.

The Fall 2018 Doc Spot series is a collaboration between the UNT Media Library, Music Library, & Local/Independent music Initiative of Texas (LIMIT) program. The series will focus on Texas music, musicians, and musical traditions, including Denton’s independent music scene, music from the Rio Grande, and Dallas hip-hop.

Denton Music & Arts Collaborative (DMAC) will be on-site to provide resources (including healthcare information) for local musicians.
