About this Event

This is an introduction to creating a stereo lithography or .STL file. An .STL file is a triangular representation of a 3-dimensional surface and the format used for printing on a 3D printer.

The Factory’s 3D Printing workshop will be an overview as to what 3D printing is, its applications, and how 3D printers work. This workshop will also cover different types of 3D printers and the different methods that each type machine uses to print out a 3D model. In addition, .STL files will also be covered in how they play a role in 3D printing. This workshop will provide an introduction to the technology and some tips for finding/creating your files for printing on the Factory’s 3D printers.
