Mean Green Begin C-USA Championship

GAME NOTES
FRISCO — The North Texas men's basketball team begins the postseason portion of its schedule on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. CT when it faces Florida International in the first round of the 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Basketball Championships presented by Baylor Scott & White Sports Performance Center at The Star in Frisco.

Wednesday's first round game will be streamed live on ESPN+ and on the radio on the Mean Green Sports Radio Network on KHYI 95.3 FM and through the tuneIN app.

The Mean Green (20-1, 8-10 C-USA) are the tenth-seed in the tournament and face the seventh-seed Panthers (19-12, 10-8 C-USA) for the third time this season and a third time in the last month.

Tickets to the 2019 Conference USA Basketball Championship can be purchased at the stadium or by visiting MeanGreenPostseason.com.

ALL-CONFERENCE GUARDS
On Monday, junior Ryan Woolridge was named C-USA All-Conference Third-Team and redshirt freshman Umoja Gibson was named to the all-conference freshman-team. It's the first time in nine years North Texas had multiple players who earned all-conference honors.

TOUGHEST TEAM WINS
Despite being the 12th shortest team in the country, North Texas has either equaled as many rebounds or outrebounded 23 of its 31 opponents. They are 18-5 in games where they equal or outrebound its opponent.

AT THE BASKET
According to Synergy Sports, North Texas guards Jorden Duffy and Michael Miller, who are listed at 6-foot-1 and 6-foot-3 respectively, each are shooting 60 percent for the year at shots taken around the basket. In comparison to this year's 10 NCAA Naismith Trophy semifinalist, only Duke's forward Zion Williamson is shooting better around the basket than Duffy and Miller. Williamson is shooting an absurd 72 percent at basket.
