Lavender Leaders

Lavender Leaders Fall Retreat is a leadership for students interested in further exploring their gender identities and sexualities in relationship to leadership. We are currently recruiting facilitators who will mentor, guide, and support incoming students through individual and group meetings, and activity facilitation. The inaugural retreat will occur September 13-15, 2019. Training retreat facilitators will occur during the first 4 weeks of the fall semester in evening or weekend sessions.

What are you looking for in a Lavender Leaders Facilitator? 

Lavender Leaders Facilitators should be feel comfortable and able to reflect on their own gender identity and sexuality in order to mentor incoming students. This could mean that Facilitators are questioning, or feeling in a moment of certainty about identity as long as they are comfortable talking with incoming students about those feelings. 

Who can become a Lavender Leaders Facilitator? 

Any UNT student who will be enrolled during Fall 2019 is welcome to apply. 

Where will the retreat take place? 

We're not sure yet, but we're looking at a few overnight locations within 2 hours of Denton. We are hoping to create an overnight retreat, in an environemnt with shared sleeping spaces.
