What is the Learning Commons?

The Learning Commons is also known as the center for tutoring. We are located on the 3rd floor of DAL 1. Our mission is to motivate students, strengthen their academic skills, and support their intellectual and ethical development in collaborative and safe environment.

 

Who Are We?

Our team consists of well-trained professional and student staff who are committed to enhance students’ self-worth and confidence through relationships of trust and a challenge and support approach.  All of our student tutors are faculty recommended and go through a vigorous hiring and training process to ensure that our students have the best experience while visiting the Learning Commons.

 

How Can We Help?

The Learning Commons consists of three main tutoring areas:

•  Writing Center  (writing support)
•  Math Lab (math support)
•  Peer Tutoring (general subject tutoring, such as science, accounting, finance, and statistics)

All of our tutoring services are FREE for students enrolled at UNT Dallas. Whether you feel like you need extra resources and tools or just want to extend your learning in a social environment, the Learning Commons is here to help.
