Monthly Portrait Session - Photographer will be on site to take high-quality UNT photos for Students/Community Members. Images can be edited with a photography knowledge specialist at a future appointment if desired. Photo backdrops available would include the UNT Union, Scrappy Statue, and the Soaring Eagle statue.

Getting to Know DSLR Cameras - Join our knowledge specialists to learn the plethora of features for a DSLR camera. Bring your own to learn some options to help you get the best image and impact you want!

Getting to Know TinkerCAD - Join The Factory knowledge specialist to learn, explore and share knowledge about 3D modeling using TinkerCAD. TinkerCAD is a free online 3D modeling software to help individuals of all levels of experience begin learning to design in 3D.

Tool Safety Green Level Training - Join our knowledgeable specialists to learn about the tools the Factory offers as well as get safety certified. Being certified to use the tools allows you to be able to check out the tools you need to complete your project.

Getting to Know SolidWorks - SolidWorks is software that incorporates CAD programs to help with the design of three-dimensional figures. Computer-aided design allows for the creation of some of the most complex and intricate projects in many areas of creative design. Use this software to design a piece for your prototype or to create the project itself and 3D print it. This program also allows you to create 2D drawings that you can automatically update on-the-fly when you change your 3D model. Getting to Know Raspberry Pi - Join our knowledge specialist for an overview of Raspberry Pi. In this session, there will be an introduction to microcontrollers, the OS for Raspi and some essential work using a Pi.

SVG File Creation for Laser Cutting - Join our knowledge specialists to discuss, exchange ideas, and learn. The Factory knowledge specialist will provide an overview of adobe illustrator and other tools to create .svg files for use with other Factory Resources.

Getting to Know the Carvey - Carvey is a 3D carving machine that allows you to make quality objects out of a variety of materials including wood, metal, and plastic. Join our knowledge specialist for an overview of the desktop CNC machine and the Easel software to design your project in.

Introduction to Soldering - In this workshop, we will cover important safety awareness when using solder and soldering tools. Then join us in building a kit to teach the foundation for through-hole soldering techniques. After you have successfully assembled the kit, you will have a better knowledge of through-hole soldering and the tools, methods, and terminology required to populate your PCB prototype.

Unity: Custom Virtual Reality Space - Learn how to use various tools within the Unity development engine, create and sculpt fascinating 2D, 3D, and virtual reality environments and build a personal VR space that you can come back and visit.

Getting to Know the Cricut - Have you wanted to see what you can do with the Cricut Explore Air? Come in to get an introduction or discuss a more complex project using Cricut Design Space. If you do not already have one, create your account to be able to start and save your projects.

Green Tea - Tea made from unfermented leaves that is pale in color and slightly bitter in flavor, produced mainly in China and Japan. Delve into social making and come by to learn and taste green tea. In this session, a tea knowledge specialist will share information with you about the tea as well as brewing techniques. You can pop in for a quick taste or stick around to learn more about the history of the tea/ brewing styles/ and how to get the best flavor from your loose leaf teas

Getting to Know the Othermill - Join a Factory Knowledge Specialist to learn, and explore the Othermill, a desktop 3-axis CNC milling machine.

Introduction to Adobe Illustrator - Adobe Illustrator is a program used by both artists and graphic designers to create vector images. These images will then be used for company logos, promotional uses or even personal work, both in print and digital form. Meet a knowledge specialist to learn Adobe Illustrator tools and how to utilize them to get your design to match your vision. 

Getting to Know Galileo - Galileo is the Intel microcontroller that can be programmed with python. In the session, join a knowledge specialist to get a hands-on introduction to working with the Galileo boards.

Getting to Know Weaving Looms - Join a knowledge specialist to learn about weaving. In this session, the knowledge specialist will teach you the basics of weaving using a loom from our classroom kit as well as demonstrate the Mirrex weaving looms that are available for check out.
