Facilities Planning & Construction

The University of North Texas System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction delivers outstanding sustainable and enduring projects that maximize value while supporting the mission of each campus. With a staff of over 20 architects, planners, interior designers and other construction and administrative professionals, this office provides professional planning, design and construction management for the campuses and System Administration for all major renovation and construction projects. These responsibilities range from initial project development through programming, design, construction and commissioning. Working closely with the UNTS administration, faculty, staff and students, the Office of System Facilities Planning & Construction implements the highest standards in design, particularly focusing on high-performance, efficient, and sustainable facilities.

Additonally, the Facilities Planning & Construction Administration team offers support to both the Planning and Design & Construction teams.

The Building Operations team handles the day to day needs of the UNT System building in Downtown Dallas at 1901 Main Street. The External Relations team is the liason between UNT System and various organizations and individual supporters. The Universities Center at Dallas also is coordinated through this department.

Steve Maruszewski
Vice Chancellor for Facilities

Steve Maruszewski joined the University of North Texas System as Vice Chancellor for Facilities in January, 2019. Maruszewski guides UNT System facilities, campus master planning and major construction activities.  While maintaining a core office at UNT System Administration headquarters in downtown Dallas, Maruszewski works closely with the University of North Texas in Denton, UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth and UNT Dallas as part of a  “borderless” team where expertise is utilized across campuses – especially for major renovation and construction projects.
