DALLAS (KNTU) Four goals came in the second half of the third period, two for each side, and the St. Louis Blues held off the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Monday, April 29, to take a 2-1 series lead and regain the home-ice advantage.

St. Louis caught Dallas sleeping early with a goal just 1:27 into the game, setting a tone that would last until the final half period. The Stars didn’t stay behind long; Alexander Radulov tied the game up 17 minutes in with his fifth goal of the postseason.

St. Louis had the only goal of the second period and led 2-1 after the last intermission.

The Stars evened the score twice in the third period, first on a shorthanded goal from Andrew Cogliano, where the Dallas defense was able to block a shot and recover the long rebound for a 2-on-1 breakaway with Cogliano and Mattias Janmark.

The second Stars goal of the third period came from Tyler Seguin with just 4:08 left and appeared it would send the game into overtime. But St. Louis promptly answered both goals and were even able to withstand a 6-on-4 situation for the final 48 seconds of the game.
