Large Scale Exercise planned

UNT’s biennial university-wide emergency drill takes place on Friday (May 3) and it will have a temporary impact on parking and transportation.

This training is important for UNT and surrounding community partners to help the university prepare in case of a real emergency. Training such as this demonstrates UNT’s commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and preparedness.

The exercise will affect the Eagle Point and North Texan drop offs on May 3. While the exercise drill is ongoing, Victory Hall stops for those routes will be at Lot 86 (north of Apogee Stadium). There may be some variations to that detour announced by DCTA via Rider Alerts during the exercise due to the arrival and departure of emergency vehicles.

Permit holders who park in Lot 85 must move their cars starting at 5 p.m. on Thursday (May 2) to 6 a.m. on Friday (May 3). Alternate parking lots are being made available nearby at FCS/Resident lots 81 (directly east of Victory Hall) or 80 (the large lot south of Victory Hall), or Eagle lots 83 (west of the Athletic Center) or 84 (east of the Waranch Tennis Complex).

Cars not moved from Lot 85 by 6 a.m. Friday will receive citations and may be towed.

Bus routes and parking return to normal operations by Friday evening (May 3) after 5 p.m.
