The Lovelace lineage can best be described as a family of North Texas supporters. Don and Patty, along with son Dillon, have provided steadfast contributions, both personal and financial, to the campus for decades, including to intercollegiate athletics.

The Mean Green softball facility bears their name, as does one of the original suite purchases at Apogee Stadium. The Lovelaces have also been instrumental in the hiring of top tier coaches.

Don serves on the President's Leadership Board, Foundation Board, Murphy Enterprise Center Board and Athletics Advisory Board. He is the founder and owner of Lily of the Desert, a company founded in 1970 that is a grower, processor and manufacturer of aloe-vera based products marketed in more than 50 countries.

Patty worked in the wholesale gift industry for 15 years at the World Trade Center in Dallas. She served as a volunteer at Liberty Christian School as Parent Teacher Fellowship president for seven years, Warrior Club co-founder and active supporter for 17 years, and with the Grandparents Association. She was also a volunteer with The American Cancer Society, Denton State School and Serve Denton.

Don and Patty are Merit Scholar supporters and lifetime supporters of the UNT Kuehne Speakers series. While attending North Texas, Patty was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and a Golden Heart.
