Andrea Miller-Pereira begins her sixth year working with the North Texas sports medicine staff as an athletic trainer.

Miller-Pereira is beginning her fourth year with the soccer team after spending her first two years with the women's basketball team. In addition to her duties with the women's soccer team, Miller-Pereira oversees the athletic trainer graduate assistants for volleyball and softball.

Prior to North Texas, she spent two years as the assistant athletic trainer at the University of Texas-Pan American. Miller-Pereira was also the clinical coordinator for the students in the Athletic Training Internship Program.

Miller-Pereira also spent one year as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of South Florida. She worked with the cross country, track and field, and football teams for the Bulls.

Miller-Pereira began her career as a graduate assistant at Florida International University. Her assignment as a graduate assistant was with three high schools as the head athletic trainer. She received her master's of science in post professional athletic training from FIU in April 2009. She also obtained her certification in Florida as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic in May 2009.

Originally from Austin, Texas, Miller-Pereira moved to Statesboro, Georgia to attend college. She earned her bachelor's of science insports medicine/athletic training from Georgia Southern University in December 2006. She was a student athletic trainer with men's soccer, women's basketball, softball, and the football teams. Miller-Pereira was honored with The Outstanding Sports Medicine/Athletic Training Major Award in 2006.

Miller-Pereira was certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification in 2007. She was licensed by the State of Florida from 2007-2010 and by the State of Texas in 2010. She holds certification as a Red Cross Instructor for CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider, as well as First Aid and Bloodbourne Pathogens.
