John Gibson enters his third year as the director of concessions after serving at the same position from 2005-08. Gibson brings over 10 years of food-service experience to the North Texas staff.
Gibson will directly oversee the concessions operations at all North Texas athletic events, as well as various University events hosted at the Coliseum.
Prior to his return at North Texas, Gibson worked with Raising Canes Chicken Fingers as an operations manager and quality assurance assessor since 2013.
Gibson also gained valuable knowledge and experience as the assistant concessions manager at Texas A&M University and the director of concessions at the University of California, Berkeley.
Originally from College Station, Texas, Gibson received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of North Texas in 2004. During his undergraduate years at North Texas, John served as a student manager for the Mean Green basketball team under Johnny Jones.
After receiving his degree from North Texas, he went on to receive his master's degrees in business management from the University of Denver in 2005.
John and his wife, Karissa, have two children: daughter, Elizabeth, and son, Noah.
