IOWA CITY, Iowa — The Mean Green tennis team lost its second match in as many days as they fell 5-2 at Iowa on Saturday

Tamuna Kutubidze improved to 3-0 on the year in singles as she won 4-6, 7-5, 12-10. Junior
Alexandra Heczey picked up the other win for the Mean Green, which she got at the No. 4 position in the lineup.
"We competed at a higher level today but still need to clean up in a lot of areas," said head coach
Sujay Lama. "We'll get to work on Tuesday and look forward to improving."
This weekend was the first road trip for North Texas who won its season-opener 7-0 over Abilene Christian at home.
Kutubidze, who in the ITA preseason ranking earned a personal-best No. 45 national singles ranking, is coming off one of the best fall seasons in program history that included a Rice Invite singles championship, a ITA Regional championship and has now started her spring with three straight singles wins.
