TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Mean Green men's golf team's season came to an end on Wednesday, but there was plenty of positive that stood out on the final day of the Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club.
 
UNT climbed two spots on the leaderboard to finish eighth at 19-over par, while UTSA, Middle Tennessee, Charlotte and UAB advanced to Wednesday's match play semifinals.
 
Sophomore Viktor Forslund continued his stellar run of play as of late and finished in a tie for seventh place at even-par, thanks to an eagle on the 12th hole – his second in as many days. Freshman Lenny Bergsson dropped off a bit after two great rounds but still finished tied for 17th at 2-over par. One of the brightest spots of the day came in the form of freshman Henri Renouard's career-best 4-under-par 68, thanks to six birdies on the day. He finished tied for 27th, which marks the best finish of his brief college career as he was playing in his sixth tournament.
 
"I'm happy to see Viktor and Henri play some stellar golf today," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "I am proud of Viktor and Lenny's performance this week. It was fun to see the young guys improve this year, and I'm looking forward to a great season next year."
