PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Mean Green concluded action at The Hayt Invitational on Monday and turned in the second-best score of any team in the final round of play, 304.
 
North Texas climbed two spots Monday to finish in a tie for 11th and were paced by sophomore Viktor Forslund, who finished in a tie for sixth after posting a 4-over performance Monday, despite difficult weather conditions. Forslund finished 2-over for the tournament in a loaded field. He birdied twice on the day, on four and 18, both par-5's.
 
Freshman Lenny Bergsson recorded his first career top-15 finish, placing in a tie for 14^th at 5-over par. He equaled his teammate Henri Renourard with a 3-over 75, as the best Mean Green scores on the day.
 
Bergsson birdied on three occasions, on holes 5, 8 and 11 on Monday, while Renourard posted four birdies, on 3, 8, 11 and 15, respectively.
 
"I'm happy with how Viktor, Lenny and Henri played this week," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "They led the way in a strong field and on a very difficult golf course. Both Lenny and Viktor had their best finish of their careers thus far. I'm very proud of their performance against a quality field and this shows how much they've progressed. We finished really well in the most brutal weather conditions that we have faced this entire year. To shoot the second-lowest round of the day is a great step in the right direction."
 
The Mean Green return to action for the final event of the regular season at the Aggie Invitational on Saturday, April 6.
