Forslund, Ulenaers Turn In Top-20 Finishes

LAFAYETTE, La. – Sophomore Viktor Forslund shot a final-round, 2-under-par 70 to finish tied for 15th place at the Louisiana Classics on Tuesday at Oakbourne Country Club, jumping 16 spots on the leaderboard between the second and third round.

The Mean Green finished 10th at 34-over par, one shot ahead of host Louisiana and two shots back of Sam Houston State.

Forslund had five birdies in his final round, including four on the front nine, while teammate Kristof Ulenaers also had a solid showing at the tournament. The redshirt sophomore tied for 18th at 5-over par after entering the day just three shots back of the lead. It marks his best finish as a collegiate golfer.

"Viktor had a solid tournament," UNT coach Brad Stracke said. "He actually should have been a couple of shots better but lost his ball in the dark finishing up (Monday's) round. Kristof played great (Monday) and had it going early today. It was a great experience for Kristof – the first time he has had a chance to win a college event. He will have a lot more opportunities in the future with his game."

Senior Jordan Sanders rounded out the Mean Green's top finishers at 7-over in a tie for 31st place.

The Mean Green will be back in action March 11-12 at the General Hackler Championship in Conway, South Carolina.
