Baier joins the Mean Green athletic department as an assistant strength coach. He will work directly with the men’s basketball team. 

Baier comes to North Texas from after Arkansas State, where he was the assistant director of strength and conditioning. At Arkansas State, he was responsible for the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the men’s basketball team and men's and women's track and field team, while also assisting with the football program. 

Prior to joining Arkansas State, Baier served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Southeast Missouri State University. During his time at SEMO, Baier was responsible for all aspects of strength and conditioning for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, tennis, and assisting with the football program. He was also the founder of the Redhawk Performance Camp, a summer strength and conditioning camp for middle and high school athletes. 

Before SEMO, Baier served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Southern California in 2013. He was responsible for developing the training programs for the women’s crew team and assisted with the men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s track and field, men’s and women’s water polo, baseball, women’s basketball, women’s tennis, women’s golf and women’s sand volleyball programs. 

In 2012, Baier was a strength and conditioning intern at Harvard University, where he assisted with the programs for the football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s ice hockey, field hockey and men’s and women’s basketball teams.

A native of Braintree, Mass., Baier earned a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise sciences with a minor in coaching from Springfield in 2013. He was the Howard Resnick Award winner as the player that represents what Springfield College stands for by displaying commitment and dedication to the team both on and off the field.
