Program Insurance

The university has a participant accident protection program which is designed to provide group accident insurance to all participants and volunteer staff members while involved in sponsored activities. Program directors must purchase accident medical insurance for the group through Risk Management Services (RMS) if it cannot be verified that all minors have personal medical coverage.  Please provide a list of your participant’s names, ages or grade level to be put on the policy and submit to RMS by the first day of the program.

If a program director confirms all participants have medical insurance, they can still purchase this as a secondary coverage and submit the required information mentioned above.

Third party programs are required to obtain their own insurance coverage that meets the standards of The University of North Texas. For more information on third party insurance requirements, please contact Scheduling Services.

REMEMBER: If you cannot certify all participants have personal medical coverage, you are required to purchase program insurance.
