North Texas Volleyball Center

North Texas boasts one of the few volleyball-only facilities in the region with its Mean Green Volleyball Center. Just as the Super Pit and Apogee Stadium offer their sports dedicated facilities with on-site offices and locker rooms, so does the Volleyball Center.

Opened in 2006, the Mean Green Volleyball center has been home to raucous crowds and championship-caliber volleyball, and attendance numbers often exceed the official capacity of 600. The Mean Green Volleyball Band plays at each match, which adds to the boisterous atmosphere.

The Volleyball Center was one of the first facilities in the Mean Green Village, the area that has become the primary home for North Texas athletics situated across I-35E from the main campus on land formerly occupied by the Radisson Hotel, Eagle Point golf course, and Liberty Christian School.

In 2005, Liberty Christian moved to a new campus in nearby Argyle and North Texas acquired their property on South Bonnie Brae Street and began converting it for University use. The basketball gymnasium was completely renovated and transformed into a Division I-caliber volleyball facility.

A volleyball court made of Robbins SportWood parquet flooring was installed and locker rooms, offices, meeting rooms, officials' dressing rooms and auxiliary training facilities were outfitted.
