About the McNair Scholars Fellowship Program

The purpose of this competitive fellowship program is to provide McNair Scholars with a stipend of $9500 for their first year and tuition assistance for the first two years of graduate study. The fellowship competition is open to Scholars in any McNair program who have not yet received funding for graduate study at UNT. Preference is given to candidates seeking doctoral degrees. Receipt of this award is contingent upon admission to a graduate program.

Application Deadlines

Fellowship applications should be submitted by January 3, 2011. Scholars should check with their departments as some admission application deadlines occur before this date.

Applying for the McNair Scholars Fellowship

1. Complete the online fellowship application. This includes a fee wavier for the admissions application.
2. Apply to UNT. Remember to submit degree-specific admission materials directly to your department.
