Job Summary and Qualifications
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will lead specific projects on advanced characterization and analysis of aerospace metallic materials in the Institute for Science and Engineering Simulation. Assist in submitting proposals on topics related to advanced materials to various funding agencies.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or closely related field at time of appointment. Experience in thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of microstructural evolution in metallic alloys. Experience in advanced structural characterization techniques.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following techniques:
Analytical and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (including STEM-based techniques), atom probe tomography, dual-beam focused ion beam microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (including EBSD) and synchrotron-based x-ray diffraction studies.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will lead specific projects on advanced characterization and analysis of aerospace metallic materials in the Institute for Science and Engineering Simulation. Assist in submitting proposals on topics related to advanced materials to various funding agencies.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or closely related field. Experience in advanced structural characterization techniques for surfaces and interfaces in hybrid composite materials.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in focused ion beam microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques including high-resolution TEM, electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), and energy-filtered TEM.
Experience in the characterization of surfaces and interfaces in hybrid materials using surface analytical tools including Raman spectroscopy, XPS and Auger spectroscopy, as well as tribological studies.
