Master's and Doctoral Fellowships (MDF)

The MDF is a multi-year funding package that provides a stipend, tuition and mandatory fees (excluding course specific fees) and health insurance benefits. Learn more about this award.

Thesis/Dissertation Fellowships (TDF)

Master’s or doctoral candidates who are in the last year of thesis or dissertation research and writing are eligible to be considered for this award. Program faculty members nominate the master’s or doctoral candidates. This distinguished award also provides tuition and fees plus a monthly stipend competitive in your academic field. Academic Achievement Scholarship (AAS)

The scholarships are available to many new doctoral and Master of Fine Arts students for the first year of study with a possible one year renewal. The recipients are awarded $1,000 and are eligible for in-state tuition rates.

To remain eligible, you must complete and pass a minimum of 15 credit hours within your first two semesters. A minimum of 6 of the 15 credit hours must be taken in the first semester the scholarship is awarded. The graduate school determines the eligibility of this award; no application is necessary. McNair Scholars Fellowship Awards

The purpose of this competitive fellowship program is to provide McNair Scholars with a stipend of $9500 for their first year and tuition assistance for the first two years of graduate study.

The fellowship competition is open to Scholars in any McNair program who have not yet received funding for graduate study at UNT. Preference is given to candidates seeking doctoral degrees. Receipt of this award is contingent upon admission to a graduate program. Read more about this fellowship.

Dr. Betty Berkeley Graduate Award

The competitive Dr. Betty Berkeley Graduate Award provides $2,000 to an exceptional graduate student pursuing a Masters of Art or Masters of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Read more about this award.

Graduate Student Travel Grants

Students in good standing who are currently enrolled in master’s or doctoral degree programs may apply for these grants to support the costs of their travel to professional meetings during the current academic year. The grants are offered by the Toulouse Graduate School, the Office of Research & Development and the Graduate Student Council. Learn more about Graduate Student Travel Grants.

Opportunities from the National Science Foundation
